PZPM/KPMG_Automotive-Industry_Q4-2020

During the three quarters of 2020, 295.1 thousand new passenger cars were registered in Poland - 28.2% less than in the same period of 2019. The drops in registration, except for motorcycles, also apply to other types of vehicles: vans, trucks, trailers and semi-trailers and buses. The growth rate is maintained by the segment of passenger cars with alternative drives. During the three quarters of 2020, nearly 47.9 thousand such vehicles were sold in Poland, which means an increase of 25.8% y/y. The COVID-19 pandemic adversely affects the production results of automotive factories. During the 9 months of 2020, a total of 325.5 thousand vehicles were produced in Poland - 34.8% less than in the previous year. The deepest drop of 40.4% was recorded in passenger car production.
